For Christmas, my mom and dad gave us a coupon for 7 days of free babysitting so we could go on vacation. Woohoo! We were so excited. We didn’t really know what we wanted to do. We tried to figure out if we wanted to go somewhere, but couldn’t think of anywhere we really wanted to go. So we decided that we would just stay around home, I called it a “staycation”.
Anyway, on Monday, we went to Boonville, Missouri and rode bikes along the Katy trail. We went from Boonville to Pilot Grove, about 13 miles, then rode back to Boonville. The trip was mostly uphill from Boonville to Pilot Grove, but because it’s an old railroad track, it was a gradual incline. The nice thing was that the ride back was quicker.
We saw a couple of deer along the way, but this was the only good picture I got of one.
We also stopped at Arrow Rock. Mark thought it was a park that had a big rock jutting out over the Missouri River, but I don’t think that’s what it was. It’s where Lewis and Clark crossed the Missouri River.
Not much exciting there at all.
We stayed in Tipton, MO in a really old motel. We thought it was funny that the ceilings had sparkles in them, do you remember that? I’m not sure if it will show up in the pictures or not.
We didn’t really do much else the rest of the week, stayed home mostly, went shopping in Springfield, MO on Thursday and Friday. I was ready to pick Kasey up Friday, but he had such a good week, he hid from us when we came up the driveway. I think Grandma and Grandpa spoil him waaaayyy too much! HA!
So here’s what Kasey did this week. He played in Grandpa’s big truck, rode the tractor, made jello pudding, rode the lawnmower and attempted to work on potty training for the week.
